A Deferred Fund

I’m looking for some advice about the above fund, which I currently hold with Canada Life.
I’m no longer in touch with the Financial Advisor and have very limited knowledge on the subject.

I’m told by Canada Life that there’s nothing I can do with this fund while it is in this state but nothing seems to have changed for years now.

They still send me my quarterly valuations, are these accurate?

Is there any way I can redeem the fund? Anyway of getting an indication of just how long things will remain the same and the chances of me getting money back?

Any advice greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Hi hushwing

I googled them out of curiosity

Policy Selection are/were based in the Cayman Islands (eek!), this is their old website which seems offline now:
Here is recent cached version:
So iot seems like they've recently taken their website offline

This website implies its suspended:

More Info (suggests its still worth something?)

http://moneyforums.cityw...ction-Assured-Fund.aspx (old thread on here)

http://www.londonstockex...ummary/OX/25025167.html (still tracking prices?) (European version, but I guess its in a similar state as GBP)

I don't really understand this product or quite where Canada Life or your FA or Policy Selection fit in. Initially I thought the fund had collapsed and it was probably a scam, but (unless I am misunderstanding) it seems like prices are still being tracked on FT and LSE. Hopefully someone on this forum who actually understands this stuff can comment, I do wish you luck getting your investment back.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your help .Regarding that website strange it does seem to have only just been taken down yes , I was looking at it the other day but wasn’t really much assistance anyway.

My FA’s recommended it as part of our increased risk and more speculative Fund based around Life Insurance Policies and obviously that didn’t turn out to be a very wise decision.

Yes I’m afraid its looking very bleak , I remember the initial correspondence from them was quite reassuring .Explaining why they’d taken this action and by stopping surrenders they’d be able to stabilise the fund over the next few years. Worryingly this obviously hasn’t been achieved.

Thanks for your concern
