I already hold SLA and considered topping-up, but as it would likely be hit very hard by any correction, I decided not to up my exposure.

This week, sold UU and STW and bought BNKR.

The prospect of McDonell and renationalisation (however remote) is hanging over utilities and may promote intervention by HMG/OFWAT so I'm out of stocks that depend on the UK/legislation for earnings and into global stuff for the next few years.

Sold a slice of GAM star credit today, have large holding and wanted to reduce as performance has waned since yields picked up earlier in the year.

Also reduced BRWM by 20% having made decent 6% in a few months and banking some credit.

Bought HEFT on decent discount and topped up JEMI

Topped up FGT today.

I think some good news on the UK staying in the customs union is due soon. It's just gut feel, but if I'm right....

I'm deliberately overweight on UK stocks (ca. 2/3 of my portfolio), hoping that common sense will prevail and reward me handsomely!

Not sure how staying in the customs union is a good thing, demoting the UK to a vasile state.

We need to pull our big boy socks up and leave like the people voted.

In any event, its the transactions thread so buying more mondelez at the open if the price is right!

Good luck, Tyrion.
But FGT is more global than UK, so if you are right about the customs union, the bounce may not be large.

I'm not convinced the Brexit gloom has bottomed yet (sanity may prevail in the end, but not until every form of insanity has been considered), so I am still mostly avoiding UK stocks.

But I did buy SLA today (partly a play on emerging markets recovery, but a juicy divi in the meantime).

I would have topped up PRU last week, but Barclays SmartInvestor has blocked me from buying anything for reasons they cannot explain or fix. Lesson: avoid Barclays...

It's 84% UK, although you are right in that many of the UK stocks in it operate globally.

Opened a small position in ALFA today, as mentioned on another thread. A 50%+ drop over 2 days sounds dramatic - and is terrible for existing holders - but a good entry point I think and the long term case is still intact.

Bought a few VEIL today after reading the Edison review. I have held VOF for nearly 2 years and added during that time. I am persuaded by the economic growth story on Vietnam and both trusts seem to be well managed. i would be interested in any other opinions re Vietnam and or choice of trust.

I'm looking for a route into Vietnam too. However, the charges on this seem extreme. According to HL (before platform fees) there is ongoing charge of 2.23% and a 2% net asset annual management fee. Unless i'm missing something i'd have to be confident that this would bring returns much higher than other funds where costs are more like 1%,compared to over 4% for this. I'm not sure i'm that confident i'll get that

I agree that Asian Pacific, including Vietnam, are worthy of attention.

I hold VOF, PAC, PHI and FEET which gives me a fair bit of diversity within the region.

Of those four I have found Pacific Horizon the most profitable so far, but in any case I am looking to the long term.

I can't help but think the appeal of Emerging Markets (including Asian) is overstated. They embraced capitalism years ago but their governments are still basket-cases riddled with corruption and struggling to organise and to regulate. Buffet, Smith and Train aren't interested in companies listed there and Baillie Gifford are only really into Tencent/Baidu/Alibaba.

EM as consumers and producers for Western companies is another matter. Go into any convenience store in SE Asia and it's stuffed with Unilever/Mondelez/Nestle products.
