Hello.

I live in Lithuania, and have recently taken interest in investing. I have made a few small investments into AIM companies. I have a friend who lives in the UK(who turned me on to all of this), that's why I've invested in the London Stock Exchange instead of the local one at home.

The problem is my bank(which is also my broker) is ripping me off. Their trade commisions are outrageus, and their trading platform is not good at all.

I've tried looking for online brokers who service non-UK residents, and also allow investing in AIM listed companies, but so far I haven't been able to find anything. Do any of you know of brokers which provide the services that I need?

Thank you for your answers.

Hello Pijus,

I use a broker outside of the UK and have access to buying stock in the LSE etc.

Re. being 'ripped off' - that's subjective.

I pay more than I would using trading only platforms and get personal advice that I'd have to pay excessively for in the UK.

I speak to my broker almost every working day.

When I'm ahead of the game I believe the personal service is worth every penny. I make my own decisions but listen to advice first.

When things go badly wrong we tend to like to blame other people.

We all get ripped off if we make bad decisions; whether we rip ourselves off by being greedy or it's always the fault of somebody else is in indeed questionable.

I'm not sure that this site is the right place to make personal recommendations, but I'd be happy to give the details of my broker provided you are prepared to do your own homework first and take full responsibility on who you decide to use.

Like a politician I only wish to be praised if things go well, and object to taking the blame if anybody loses money as a result of me trying to be helpful.

If your country is in the E C one can open an account at Hargreaves, I live in France and my dealings with
H L are very good and not expensive.

I used to trade with Interactive Brokers and I'm now with International Brokers (ibworldwide.com). Feel free to email me at ivan.pavlov75@mail.ru if you have any questions or thoughts. I did a lot of this due diligence when I picked my broker.

Hello Rickey
I use Interactive investor for 2 ISAs and some in Trading account. My main investments are on Fedelity platform and it is related to Clubfinance who returns 75% of his commission. How would you compare these two with ibworlswide, never heard of. I can send you my email, if that helps you.
Thanks
SCM
