I would be very interested to hear member's view on SVR from a SIPP. I have unfortunately lost my job due to ill health, however I have been able to transfer from a very good DB scheme to a SIPP. This has given me a very substantial seven figure sum to manage.

The basic 4% "rule" is I believe too basic when dealing with large drawdown pots. I am researching various variable SVR's, Guyton and Klinger seems to give a fair balance. My plan is make large capital purchases when the market is high and increasing, and then I can drop back when the inevitable corrections occur.

We do not have children, therefore leaving a legacy is not so important. I use cash flow modelling software in conjunction with a planned withdrawal.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
