Why does everyone keep repeating that RCP is defensive? If you look at its 2008-2010 chart, it was pretty volatile (although largely because it initially made money while everyone else was losing it, before RCP itself apparently also fell off the same cliff later in the year). Not convinced it quite deserves the "safe haven" aura some seem to want to bestow on it. I do hold a little as a diversifier myself, but actually lump it in with my "multi-asset: aggressive allocation" category when totting up asset allocations.
