Any thoughts on ARTL, today's Questor tip? It's a premium article, so in summary:

- Actual discount 21% but true discount closer to 29% if the 37% stake in ground rents is discounted (as it is arguably equivalent to cash)

- Managers own a large stake and have an interest in getting discount down

- It may go private in the future meaning investors would achieve closer to NAV

- Lawsuit recently settled in the Trust's favour and proceeds from this not included in current NAV

srg and Tug Boat were discussing it earlier today in Transactions.

I've looked at ARTL, but Questor has tipped the damned thing now. It also has a big spread I seem to remember.

So he has, ha. Up 8% since I posted ar 6 30. Have to start putting my money where my mouth is. Can't believe how much influence he has. Still, on a total return basis, ARTL is still the better bet for me. ( I hold SGRO for growth + income))

I looked at ARTL after the Questor tip. According to Hargreaves Lansdown the Ongoing Charge is 11.08%! This is rather high isn't it?

I noticed that too - possibly it is related to the performance fee, the discount having narrowed significantly in the past year? I was also put off by the NAV frequency (quarterly) which makes it harder to assess whether it is a bargain or not.

I won't be investing.
