Well, Cav/Pag is rather fun but I prefer the classics to the romantics.

Does anyone really want to trigger a blast of arrogance and insults such as these boards have rarely seen? Or should I just say the comedy is over and stop making any attempt to make anyone reconsider strategies that I consider totally stupid?

Like the strategies of the doomsters over the past 9 years. Some of us cantankerous old gits (I put my hands up on all counts) are really trying to help (believe it or not)..

I would like to know what are the vested interests of those whose toes I am treading on.

I've at least three trades lined up for tomorrow, but I think I will keep my cards out of sight. I am dead curious as to why jvl on another thread pulled a perceptive post on my trades in the wee small hours last week.

Oh go on Tony, tell us? Pretty please?

Goodness knows what the poor OP thinks of us, probably scared him off for good!

Do you know, when I started on this forum I swore I would stick to the thread topic and not get led off piste.....must get back on track.....this is my last diversion for a week...just don't tempt me OK?

You may choose to follow a similar approach. If you are not yet confident, but want to invest, my suggestion is simple: buy a World Equities index tracker ETF.

As an alternative, you might want to consider a range of Trackers covering different regions so you can top up when particular markets are cheap. A World Index will be at least 50% in US stocks, which may (or may not) be over-valued...

I have a small passive portfolio with a combination of L&G and Blackrock Index Trackers and I top them up in small amounts, both regular and small lump sums (which is free on HL). It's also useful for satisfying the urge to trade without risking too much!

Good luck with your investments

Well if it's anything like the barrage you left on my answering machine after I posted my previous quarter returns, I'd say only if it carries a VERY stern health warning...!

Yawn!

I appreciate many of your posts Tony, but it's about time to drop the feuding - and that goes for those that like to wind you up as well.

Andy, the only hierarchy around here is knowledge .. and in that regard, Tony and I would agree: you're a peasant.

I think it's time you left KL, if you can't be civil to others on this forum!

Thank you KL if I have managed to get you two to agree then that is a step forward, but somehow I dont think that will be the case

If you cannot keep on topic then dont post
You may regard me as a peasant but as others have said that is your opinion

You forgot to post a graph to show me.

I just hope that I never have you in front of me when I have to make a decision on your future as I may forget all the knowledge I built up in my career to date and make just one of those simple mistakes that us uneducated people make. You see in my view it is pretty uneducated to start insulting people because they have got a bit fed up with your spats.
If you dont like it dont give it. If you cannot take it dont dish it, that is the rule that the peasants live by

Once the peasants revolt most kings are beheaded
I am used to eating gruel and doft my hat to to the mighty ones.
You see I can survive in the gutter but you cant

Just hide behind your keyboard like all the other lying bully boys.
I am so worried by being called a peasant that I am shaking in my boots.
Perhaps you should take a look at yourself when you sober up or come down from what ever you have been taking

Your call or is it your momentum, now run along sonny and stop annoying the plebs

( Apologies to the rest of the community who have to read this , feel free to ignore it and move on!)

Whether Tony and I agree on things, I can at least say 98% of his posts are informative, lucid, and come from a place of experience that far exceeds yours..

It's you and Keith I only ever see buzzing around any minor drama or opportunity to take offense like flies to stagnant pond water..

If you can't take a little testosterone and ego: log off and crawl into your 'safe spaces'.

I really cannot get upset by your views of me
I feel so sorry that you have to be so angry and dogmatic because I am sure when you come out from behind your keyboard you might be a half decent human being

I now realise that you are dragging me down to your level
I will be beside you at the bus stop tomorrow

Wow. Things can spiral out of control so easily - I have to put my hands up and apologise for starting this off.

My use of the word "peasant" was meant to be a jokey way of thanking Cueball for his post, but I saw red when TJL took umbrage and went into accusatory mode.

KL wasn't in on the action at that point, and I have tried to patch things up with him elsewhere. It hurts to see andy mac drawn into it.

I have been trying to make a dignified age-related exit from these forums, but I think now the time has definitely come. Everybody can work out the strategy I use, for what it is worth, so no further explanation is necessary. It works well for me. As someone said in the post he pulled I have pretty well shown my full hand.

Good luck all of you. Remember to make the most efficient use of your savings as you possibly can.

Tony

I had appreciated that it was done with tongue in cheek and just wanted the situation to return to the matter in hand

The problem is that no one can see the posters face or know their thoughts when a post is made
It is difficult enough to follow some of the posts but then others take offence ( and I did ) being told that I had no intelligence.
Perhaps I am not so learned as KL in somethings but I am equally sure that I have areas of knowledge that he has not

In earlier days I was told by a very poor manager that knowledge was power, his problem was he didnt realise his knowledge was actually limited to the technical and what was being cascaded down and he didnt know what was actually happening at the workface or in the wider community

PLEASE KEEP POSTING TONY
You are willing to pass on your techniques and knowledge and I ( we/many) appreciate that

Anyway another day has dawned
Please let us know how those trades go Tony you have us hooked
I am always pleased to read on here that some is ahead and that different strategies work differently for different people
